Why there is no subscriptionFrequently asked questions
Is EZCV free?
Yes. EZCV is free to use, and the free plan is not a time-limited trial: there is no subscription and no recurring charge at any tier. A free account gives you all 5 templates — Classic, Modern, Minimal, Creative and Executive — along with up to 50 CVs and up to 10 cover letters per CV, so you can keep a tailored version for every role you apply to. Customization is included rather than gated: 8 professional fonts, 12 curated colour themes, and control over how your sections are ordered and laid out. PDF export is part of the free plan too, and free exports carry a small watermark. A one-time Supporter payment removes that watermark permanently and unlocks a custom public CV link for your main CV. It is paid once, not monthly.
Are EZCV templates ATS-friendly?
Yes. Every EZCV template exports your CV as real, selectable text rather than as an image, which is the single most important requirement for an Applicant Tracking System: the software has to be able to read the characters before it can index them. Exports are single-page PDFs with embedded fonts, so the text stays selectable and searchable after download and nothing depends on the reader having your font installed. Each template uses conventional section headings such as Experience, Education and Skills, so a parser maps your content to the fields it expects instead of inferring them from position on the page. All 5 templates share the same underlying document structure, so choosing a more visual design like Creative or Executive does not cost you machine readability. To check any CV yourself, open the exported PDF and try to select the text: if you can highlight it, an ATS can read it.
What format can I download my CV in?
A single-page PDF. EZCV renders your CV through a real browser engine and exports it as a print-quality PDF with embedded fonts, so it looks the same on every device and stays selectable as text instead of being flattened into an image. The single-page constraint is deliberate: for most candidates a one-page CV is what recruiters and screening tools expect, and every template is laid out to fit within it. Free exports include a small watermark, and the one-time Supporter upgrade removes it permanently — there is no per-export charge and no subscription. PDF is currently the only export format; there is no DOCX or plain-text export today. You can export as many times as you like on any plan, so it costs nothing to re-export after correcting a typo or reordering a section.
Do I need an account?
You can browse all 5 templates without signing in, but creating, editing and exporting a CV requires an account, because your CV has to be stored somewhere you can return to and edit it. Sign-in is passwordless: either continue with Google, or enter your email address and receive a magic sign-in link. There is no password to invent, remember or reset, and EZCV never stores one, which also means there is no password of yours to leak if a database is ever breached. Creating an account is free and takes about as long as filling in a short form once. A single account holds up to 50 CVs and up to 10 cover letters per CV, so one sign-in covers every tailored version you make. Accounts left unused are cleaned up automatically under our data-retention policy rather than kept indefinitely.
Can I create more than one CV?
Yes, and it is the recommended way to use EZCV. Each account holds up to 50 CVs, and each CV can have up to 10 cover letters attached to it, so you can keep a separate, tailored version for every role or company rather than sending the same document everywhere. Tailoring matters because most applications are filtered before a human reads them: a CV that mirrors the language of the specific job description tends to survive screening better than one generic document reused across every posting. Each CV keeps its own template, colour theme and font, so you can run a conservative design for corporate applications and a more visual one for creative roles from the same account. All of this is included on the free plan, not reserved for paying users.
Can I share my CV with a public link?
Yes. Any account can publish one CV as a public web page, so you can share a link in an email signature, a LinkedIn profile or an application form instead of attaching a file that may not render the way you designed it. On the free plan that page is served from a randomly generated address. A one-time Supporter upgrade lets you choose a custom slug for your main public CV, so the link reads as your name rather than a random string. You keep control of visibility throughout: publishing is opt-in for each CV, you decide whether search engines are allowed to index the page, and you can unpublish at any time. The public page renders the same template, colour theme and font as your PDF, so the version someone opens in a browser matches the one you send as a file.
